At risk
Support awareness of risk factors and preventive health conversations before heart-failure symptoms develop.
We bring cardiovascular research, data science and digital health together to build care that continues beyond the clinic.
Kinetic Health Tech is a clinician-led team with roots in the Division of Cardiology at The University of Hong Kong. Under the leadership of Prof. Kai-Hang Yiu and Dr Qing-Wen Ren, the team’s work spans big-data cardiology, artificial intelligence and heart-failure prediction.
Heart Guardian AI translates that research focus into a connected-care concept: understand cardiovascular risk, bring together diagnostic information and support follow-up over time.
Our goal is to make prevention and self-management more personal, while keeping clinical judgement at the centre of care.

P-CARDIAC / HEARTWISE research event. Research experience informs our work; it is distinct from evidence of benefit for the Heart Guardian AI product.
The intended platform pathway follows the progression from risk factors to established heart failure. These are heart-failure stages, rather than a classification of all cardiovascular disease.
Support awareness of risk factors and preventive health conversations before heart-failure symptoms develop.
Bring together clinical information to support follow-up for people with structural or functional changes but no current symptoms.
Develop practical support for symptoms, medication routines and communication with the clinical care team.
Clinical expertise and cardiovascular data research guide our development priorities.

Professor Yiu’s work combines interventional cardiology with advanced cardiovascular imaging, including echocardiography and computed tomography.
He received his MBBS and MD from The University of Hong Kong and completed a PhD at Leiden University focused on the clinical application of cardiac imaging. His academic and clinical work has contributed to cardiovascular research, education and patient care in Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

Dr Ren’s research focuses on big-data analysis in cardiovascular disease and applications of AI in medicine, with postdoctoral research experience at The University of Hong Kong’s Department of Medicine.
Her published work includes studies in the European Heart Journal, Nature Communications and The Lancet Regional Health – Western Pacific, addressing outcomes in patients with heart failure.
These publications illustrate the team’s research background. They do not establish the effectiveness of the Heart Guardian AI platform.
Our care pathway includes Ethics Medical Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui for cardiovascular-focused diagnostic services. Blood tests, ECG, echocardiography and ultrasound can contribute complementary information, depending on clinical needs and the selected service.
